An Idaho judge granted a three-year civil stalking injunction against Dustin Hurst after a hearing and review. The judge declared there was enough evidence that he had engaged in stalking.
The conduct documented in the proceedings: doxxing. Public threats. Escalation of attacks against the petitioner while the petitioner’s son was in pediatric ICU. A refusal to apologize.
Two SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) lawsuits were filed by network-allied operators against the same petitioner who obtained the injunction against Hurst. Both lawsuits were dismissed.
The person responsible for Idaho Freedom PAC’s treasury — the man who moves the money that elects the Gang of 8 — has a court-ordered civil stalking injunction against him, issued after judicial findings. The same network that publicly positions itself as defending “Idaho values” holds a three-year court order against one of its architects for stalking the person who reported on them.

An Idaho judge granted a three-year civil stalking injunction against Dustin Hurst after a hearing in which the judge found sufficient evidence he had engaged in stalking. Documented conduct included doxxing, public threats, escalation of attacks against the petitioner while the petitioner's son was in pediatric ICU, and refusal to apologize. Where he actually sits — public title vs. operational role
Hurst’s public title says Senior Director of Development at People United for Privacy (PUP), Heather Lauer’s national 501(c)(4). The org-chart move was cosmetic. Per principal-investigator account, he still runs IFF strategy through:
- Idaho Freedom PAC (IFPAC) — current Treasurer. IFPAC is the IFF’s electoral arm. Hurst signs the checks.
- Honor Idaho — Registered Agent. Honor Idaho is the rebrand of Pruett’s Idaho Second Amendment Alliance into a 501(c)(4) culture-war platform. Hurst is the registered agent on the Idaho business filings.
Before the cosmetic move to PUP, Hurst was IFF Vice President / Communications Director / News Director for years. The IFF operating playbook he built does not change because his nameplate moved. The financial signature (IFPAC treasurer) and the legal signature (Honor Idaho registered agent) both remain his.
He is also a Club for Growth Foundation Fellow — the same national-conservative training program Sen. Christy Zito attended.
The 2021 lobbyist-registration fine
In July 2021, Hurst was fined by Idaho regulators for breaking the state’s lobbyist-registration law. Both Idaho Press and Idaho Education News covered the story by name.
Lobbyist-registration laws exist precisely because the public has an interest in knowing who is being paid to influence what legislation. A communications operative for a 501(c)(3) policy-advocacy organization who fails to register, gets caught, and gets fined is a documented evidentiary mark on the relationship between his organization and the lawmaking process.
DOCUMENTED — JULY 2021 LOBBYIST-REGISTRATION FINE
In July 2021, Dustin Hurst was fined by Idaho regulators for breaking the state's lobbyist-registration law. Coverage in Idaho Press (July 1, 2021) and Idaho Education News (July 2, 2021), both naming the fined IFF official.
The Pruett-Hurst Freedom Bros Podcast
In April 2023, Keep Idaho Free announced “Pruett, Hurst Partner to Present Freedom Bros Podcast” — a co-hosted partnership between Greg Pruett (the propaganda-network operator) and Hurst (the IFF communications operative).
The podcast is operational evidence — not inference — that the IFF and the Idaho propaganda network are not separate independent operations. They share a podcast. Same two operators, same recording schedule, same audience. Calling them “independent voices” is not a defensible position once their joint product publishes in public.
The X attack-feed
Per the Grok intel sweep of Hurst’s @HurstforIdaho X account and the secondary @DustinvEveryone handle, Hurst’s X feed runs as the network’s faction-mapping operation. Documented attacks include posts targeting Mark Fitzpatrick (@oldstatemark), Sen. Brian Lenney (@brian_lenney), Ada County GOP Vice Chair Ryan Spoon (@SpoonForIdaho), Sen. Kelly Anthon (@kelly_a_anthon), Lauren Walker, Pardee, Dave Reilly, Brian Almon, Idaho GOP Chair Dorothy Moon (@moonforidaho), Brent Crane, and Heather Scott.
The faction-mapping function: Hurst’s feed publicly identifies which Idaho conservatives the network is loyal to and which it has marked for removal. The same operator who serves as IFPAC treasurer publishes a public attack-list against rival Republicans.
