Why I built this.

A pretty small group of donors, operators, and legislators has most of the say in Idaho policy now. They run the operation behind a wall of websites, PACs, and dark-money pipelines that most Idahoans have no way to trace. I built this site so that wall is easier to see through.

IdahoExtremism.org is the public record of how the whole thing works: who is doing what, who is paying for it, how the money moves, and how the narrative side manufactures a fake consensus.

Here’s what I mean by “extremism.”

Believing something hard isn’t extremism. Plenty of Idahoans hold strong views on religion, guns, abortion, the Constitution, or who belongs in a community, and don’t hurt anybody over it. A community can hold a wide range of views and still function fine.

Extremism is what happens when somebody’s so locked in on a belief that they start using abusive tactics to shut down anyone who disagrees: doxxing, stalking, posting a political opponent’s Social Security number on official channels, targeting an opponent’s children, steering homeless families to a rival’s event as political theater, recording private conversations without consent and weaponizing the audio, threatening journalists, family members, and elected officials with mob action at their homes. This site is about the conduct.

The framing comes straight out of my Definitive Guide to Idaho Extremism on Political Potatoes: holding a belief isn’t extremism, using abusive tactics to force that belief on people who disagree with you is. Every dossier and investigation on this site is built around that distinction.

Who built this.

I’m Gregory Graf, founder of Snake River Strategies , an Idaho-based political research and strategic communications firm. I’ve spent close to a decade on the network profiled on this site, and I’ve been on the receiving end of the tactics documented here more than once, which is part of why it exists.
