Bryan Smith

IFF Board Member · Idaho Falls Attorney

Idaho Falls attorney. IFF board co-architect alongside Doyle Beck. Together they're the brains and money the public-facing IFF presidency reports to.

Published April 25, 2026

Who he is

Bryan Smith is an Idaho Falls attorney and a board member of the Idaho Freedom Foundation. His role is structural rather than public-facing: with Doyle Beck, he provides the strategic and financial direction the IFF runs on. Ron Nate is the public president; the board is where the work happens.

Smith’s long-running ties to Idaho Falls Republican politics, his legal practice, and his board role together establish him as one of the two architects of the policy operation that drives the Gang of 8 voting bloc. We treat him as a co-anchor with Beck on the IFF org page rather than as an independent figure.

The Structural Role

The IFF is small. The board is the decision layer. With Doyle Beck, Smith is one of two long-running board figures who provide both organizational continuity and financial backstop to an organization that has shaped Idaho Republican primary politics for over a decade.

Smith’s legal background also matters, the IFF’s structural and strategic decisions, including the decisions about how to position the organization legally, naturally route through someone with legal training. Whether or not he is the IFF’s general counsel formally, his board role places him in proximity to those decisions.
